About Josie Fry - Gallery Manager

Josie's Background

Having studied Fashion Design at renowned university Central Saint Martins, Josie has long possessed a passion for creativity from global textiles to delicate figurative pencil sketches. Headhunted for renowned British fashion institution Julien Macdonald, Josie went on to produce costumes for internationally respected West End productions such as the Lion King through association with TheatreKnits.

Working alongside Ben since Wyecliffe Galleries was opened in 2004 (coincidentally, the same year that they married) Josie brings a fusing of artistic experience alongside a genuine love of helping art collectors indulge a shared passion.

"It is always lovely to meet customers that share our enthusiasm for art and I love hearing about people's journeys"

Josie's Responsibilities

Josie's favourite works of art has to be the two beautiful portraits of her children that were painted by Kerry Darlington. This was arranged as a surprise Christmas present - Josie still remember's how she felt opening this completely unexpected and beautiful gift! Lucy really hopes that our customers have a similar feeling when they receive their artworks. The magical thing about these portraits are that Kerry has captured a moment in time that Lucy gets to enjoy every-time she see's them hanging on her wall.

As the Gallery Manager, Josie has a lot of organising and paperwork to do but also here to help with enquiries, deliveries and advising on artworks. Josie always finds it lovely to meet customers at the gallery (or over the phone!) that share our enthusiasm for art and loves hearing about peoples’ journeys collecting art. One of Josie's favourite aspects of working at the gallery is seeing new artwork as it arrives. Often, we are lucky enough to view paintings in progress and its always exciting to see the finished work.
