About Keyleigh Bond – Studio Coordinator
Attending Rydens Enterprise school and sixth form college, Keyleigh undertook Art as one of her GCSE options and there started a love of communicating through creation. Promptly enrolling at Brooklands College to continue her studies of art and design, Keyleigh encountered Wyecliffe Galleries as part of her work experience… And never left!
What is your role at Wyecliffe Galleries?
I am responsible for the organisation and safe keeping of the 2,500 painting strong portfolio of Wyecliffe Galleries, and can mostly be found overseeing the running of the impressive studio space which backs onto the main galleries. Assisting with the continued task of preparing works for safe delivery, I love receiving emails from our clients to let me know when the paintings have been received and are now hanging proudly on their walls at home!
What do you love most about art?
I love art as it can help you express your feelings and emotions without the use of text. I love that there is no limit to art, you could paint a beautiful picture or - like Damian Hurst - you could use real objects and animals as your main focus. Art is something that speaks to everyone in many ways; and that's a powerful thing.
My favourite artist is Lhouette, his work is contemporary, fun, colourful and unique. He is always trying new styles and mediums and that's what makes him different from other artists. Lhouette's work had a huge influence on my college studies and I hope to own a piece one day!
I like working at the Wyecliffe Gallery because it brings new challenges every day, I have grown as a person and now know how to deliver and handle expensive pieces of artwork safely. I also work with amazing colleagues and customers who make the job so worthwhile.
