"This was painted over the Summer, inspired by watching the beautiful Wisteria shrub I have at home. It was visited by many butterflies and bees whilst in bloom - as though it had its own little world with its own social network of buzzing, chatting and scent. I imagined it how it would be if it were bigger, which resulted in my tree of 'Wild Magic" Kerry Darlington.

A circular portrait, the composition features a brunette heroine embracing a panda bear; surrounded by pink, purple and blue butterflies, peonies and bows are laced throughout her hair. Accompanying the piece was a sleeping fairy on a crescent moon charm.

"The inspiration for this painting came from a little daydream I had - I saw the three girls meeting as young teenagers in a dreamscape; Wendy, Dorothy and Alice relaying their experiences to each other. I set about weaving their stories into the same piece in the background, moving out from their own realities onto a path leading into their respective magical worlds.
As many of you know, I adore all three books and it was a joy to revisit the three heroines of the stories albeit in a different way." - Kerry Darlington

Alice in the Rose Garden -The final instalment in Darlington’s seminal Alice in Wonderland series, her homage to Lewis Carroll’s iconic novels draws to a close in spectacular fashion.

Set beneath the waves 'Lost Worlds' dives deeper into the fantastical world that Kerry has created with her Worlds Collide Collection.

‘The Elixir of Love’ is at the very heart of Kerry's enchanting ideology; where we are taken far away from our day to day; for this is a place where the make-believe is true and every day worries are left behind.

The natural follow up to 'Snow White Rose Red', 'Little Red Riding Hood' and 'The Snow Queen'; the painting features an adolescent girl embracing a fierce but powerful lion. Encouraging us to consider what strength is rather than what it looks like, Kerry approaches the dichotomy that we are both are our own greatest assets and our own biggest downfalls.

Kerry started her career with the 'Tree Of Life', originally inspired by Gustav Klimt. Periodically she has returned back to this theme and this edition was made using textured elements. It was the first time the tree was created separately to the back-piece and has been individually inserted to each art work giving them all that sense of a personal and unique touch.

Like Kerry's Classic Alice in Wonderland Down the Rabbit Hole or Peter Pan in Neverland this is a work so richly detailed, the viewer will always discover something new. The level of detail has required the celebrated 3D elements in the Edition to be three levels deep.

Densely detailed, above the city a compact yet strong little girl rides a dragon sounding the battle call. Shouting to her comrades above the roar of the Thames river and bustle of London below, she is the figurehead of a tribe fighting for good. Wanting to portray a young heroine centrally to her story in a place of strength, power and freedom, Darlington based her likeness on her niece.

"I felt a connection with Origami and the fragility of the paper, how over the years I have fashioned paper into all manner of things, by making art upon it."

At the heart of each composition is an elegant, timeless female – otherworldly in nature. With flowing locks, gently twirling in the wind; Wish Upon a Butterfly see’s Kerry return to an auburn-haired muse, with warmth radiating from within.

To evoke the mythical, almost primal themes in this painting, Kerry has chosen a reduced colour palette of wintry, misty tones embellished with silver leaf. The evocative landscape is populated by beautifully realistic depictions of woodland creatures: foxes, hares... And one gorgeously rendered unicorn!

Under a full moon an enthusiastic hustle of prancing free-folk spin around a gnarled timeworn tree. Deftly painted, the bark and branches are in muted warm greys, the ideal tone to supercharge the vibrant glowing wings and stripped legs of the faeries.

Bathed in the light of the full moon, the silver bark of an ancient tree glitters amidst a cast of mythical folk; faeries, pixies and imps dance under the reaching branches. Threads of cobwebs shine bright, weaving amongst the bright lanterns. An enchanting lyrical composition, this artwork will leave a smile on your face and a song in your heart.

This beautiful work is made using unique silver and copper metal leafing and personally placed 3D elements on each piece: no two are alike. This original has a lot of components going on, some show the little chicks before they have been hatched and others show them as they are growing up as if to tell different parts of the same story.
