Lhouette’s original female character Angel Cake has become synonymous with the artist. Subversive in tone, the silhouette of an angel is armed with guns. Powerful yet deadly, she is the first in his army of assassins and has been immortalised in ink on the artists own tattooed forearm. Synonymous with the artist, Angel Cake can be found in centre stage of the artist’s ‘Pop Maximalist’ philosophy of artmaking, as well as subtly hidden amongst his signature pop collage designs. Evolving from an outline on plywood in his earliest works to recent commanding large wall sculptures, she has featured in each of Lhouette’s acclaimed solo exhibitions with Wyecliffe Galleries including Art De Populaire to Video Heaven, as well as included within his 4 month residency with the Dorchester Collection.
