There's been a bit of a buzz at our Weybridge gallery today with the arrival of two beautiful originals by Ben Payne.
Many great painters have been classically trained, but there is also a noble tradition of the self-taught artist coming from a different background entirely: their 'other life' gives a different perspective to the art.
While art has always been an enormous part of Payne's life (particularly his artist mother), Ben studied in Psychology, working with Autistic Children as a Behavioural Therapist.
This manifests itself in Ben's art as a purity and innocence that has been a joy to behold when photographing these originals. Blending both figurative and abstract qualities, these simple, striking pieces speak of great things to come!
