In historical terms they were also known as Printers Proofs as they were the first editions trialled to ensure the colour match on the editions was correct as per the artists vision – they were often gifted by artists to friends and family, or swapped with other artists to collect work rather than being released to sale. These days technology has come on so far that the colours don’t alter from AP to main edition, and Kerry has elected to release them to sale. As they are first made in a print run, some collectors covet these as a preference, though this is down to the individual collector.
