NFT is an abbreviation for Non-Fungible Token and this new technology allows data to be hidden within a digital file to establish proof of ownership. This is unique and non-interchangeable unit of data stored on a digital ledger which uses blockchain technology – in essence it identifies the original file, and is the digital equivalent of an original piece of artwork, differentiating it from a jpeg copy.
