Resin use in Paintings

Resin in Art

Resin has emerged in recent years as a fantastic versatile medium to use in  in art. A water-resistant glue-like substance, epoxy resin is applied to a painting when as a fluid, drying to form a clear durable gloss finish.

Artists can completely cover their work to create a pure sheen for a contemporary aesthetic, or use a drip technique on selected areas to catch the viewers eye.

As resin is applied by hand there may be little marks or dimples present in or underneath the sheen.  This is nothing to be concerned about and should be expected from a hand made original or unique edition work.
