Working for days on a single painting, the artist spends hours slowly manipulating the fluid liquid colour to arrive at an accomplished original work; the motion suspended in time, in a similar action as capturing a solar eclipse in a single photographed frame. Intangible and evocative, Nicholas is heavily influenced by the Japanese philosophy of Wabi-Sabi. The ethos lies in the acceptance of both transience and imperfection.
