Keith Maiden

Born in Wolverhampton in 1962, Keith is a self taught artist who turned down a place at art college to in favour of earning a living to help his parents. He began his career as a shop fitter and factory worker, it was on visiting his local printers to get some of his sketches photocopied that he was offered a job as a graphic designer. Following a move to London he has since been developing a style of his own through close observation of the human face and form.

Keith's reputation is starting to grow with interest from galleries and collectors. His powerful portraits and depictions of the female form in clean and assured lines of acrylic, ink and graphite and the rawness of the finished work is part of the appeal. His technical ability and a natural sensitivity shows in all of his work, effortlessly creating depth, feeling and emotion above and beyond the surface.
