Animal Art
Harnessing the sheer strength and natural order of the animal kingdom, Wyecliffe presents an extraordinary and diverse group of painters contributing to the contemporary wildlife art scene. With an endless reach, original paintings, limited editions and sculptures depict creatures from all four corners of the globe. With a range of expression as dynamic and as varied as the animals themselves, the versatility of this genre lends itself both to progressive interior design as well as a more traditional décor. There is a wealth of works within the wildlife art collection, from colossal interpretations of prowling felines with lifelike accuracy, to petite works in which animals assume human features, abundant with charisma and fun.
“Structurally I took inspiration from deficit interiors; broken plaster board exposing wooden beams, in keeping with the industrial aspect that influence a lot of the work. I then started to think about opposing ideas - ‘new and old’ and ‘life and death’ were the original working titles and this is where the theme developed,"

... strewn across the plaster and firmly in the foreground is chaotic life and messy interpretations. The pop culture references are deliberately ambiguous and even random with some much darker ones too. I liked the idea of contrasting this against the palette background in something a bit more zen, clean, golden and rich”
Animals in Interiors
Via our consultancy services, Wyecliffe Galleries has often sought the diversity of wildlife art to introduce personality to a property, reflecting the traits of the individuals who occupy them. Symbolic in nature, the choice of animal art can be reflective of the qualities that the collector holds dear. Guaranteeing a portfolio of talented artists, and with a wealth of styles to select from there are creatures to suit every home. Faye Nasser Joley’s wild horses conjure notions of untamed freedom where the assertive nature of her big cats sets a confident and powerful tone. The Beatrix-Potter inspired characters of Rozanne Bell summon themes of mischief and mayhem, contrasting with the bold contemporary paint-drip rabbits of Alex Echo. The personality of these artists allows them to constantly break new boundaries in their ambition to bring nature to private homes through the dedication observation of their subjects; be that taking inspiration from the wildlife in their own back garden or the African savannah.
'Garden of Eden Incitement'
Inspired by Earth’s greatest natural phenomena emerging artist Becky Smith has an extensive portfolio, featuring compositions that re-imagine jellyfish swimming in the stars, and elegant koi carp in pools of rainbow coloured ink. Early works celebrated the idea of paradise as seen in her minds eye; a true garden of Eden, works are filled with lovebirds, butterflies and hummingbirds, set amongst oriental hanging blossoms and laced with metallic leaf. Smith is represented exclusively by Wyecliffe Galleries, works start from £395 inc.
'Storytelling Artwork'
With an interest stemming as far back as her childhood, for Kerry Darlington her adoration of animals was born by reading about their characters as told by the greatest literary authors. Ranging from the classic folklore tales of Hans Christian Anderson, to the Brothers Grimm, Darlington renders fur and whisker in lifelike precision. Taking to the woodlands, the Wild and Free collection transports us deep into the tangled woodlands of stag filled Welsh countryside. Wyecliffe Galleries has been the home of Kerry Darlington for over a decade and her incredible portfolio may be found here.
'Beatrix Potter inspired paintings'
Rozanne Bell's charismatic animal paintings are informed by the artist's personal history with wildlife resonating back to her early childhood in Zimbabwe, where she has a wealth of knowledge about the native creatures in this country. Having relocated to the UK, her works are a delightful fusion of the British wildlife found in wild meadows as well as her African heritage with zebras and giraffes providing equal inspiration to hedgehogs and rabbits. Most recently the artist has discovered the illustrations of Beatrix Potter as a source of inspiration. As the flagship gallery for Rozanne, we are proud to present the biggest catalogue of her original works available on the contemporary art market.
'Animals with a groove'
Artist Amy Louise primes every board with a hand chosen block colour, ranging from Elephant’s Breath to the inky tones of Stiffkey Blue, these cool contemporary palettes are ideal for the design conscious. Coated with a final smooth layer of gloss resin, the colour is sealed and magnified. Pick from a flamboyance of flamingos to a herd of elephants – these animated animals will add personality and life to your home in abundance.
'Hyper realistic artworks at an epic scale'
Inspired from her many solo trips abroad including a year-long stay in Rome where she set up a studio and studied the work of the great Italian masters, Faye Nasser-Joley is one of our most high-profile artists with clients all over the world. Motivated by the sheer ascendancy that have earned these influential animals the right to be at the top of the pecking order, Faye does a distinct job every-time at showcasing the undisputed power of her stalking felines; their gaze affirms an assertive presence in any space as they remain vigilant of their surroundings. A renowned equestrian painter, Nasser-Joley has commissioned large-scale works for private residencies in the Middle-East and beyond. Original paintings are often three months in the making, leading to a scarcity of work not able to meet demand.
Choosing an artwork can be revitalising, especially when the selection at hand is vast, the notable value that animal or wildlife art can bring to the decor of your home is that unlike other artistic genres, the figurative nature allows wildlife art to sit tidily without much consideration of it's disposition, but rather acting as a gesture of presence. This rare freedom allows yourself to venture in to many different styles that portray wildlife, as the exciting luxury of envisioning your favourite artwork is almost a secured reality.
