Don't Mention The Breakdown - Edition

There are few television comedies as enduringly loved as Fawlty Towers. More than half a century after it first aired, Basil Fawlty's wonderfully chaotic attempts to run his Torquay hotel remain woven into British popular culture, with the sitcom continuing to delight audiences across generations.

In 'Don't Mention The Breakdown', David Renshaw celebrates one of the series' most unforgettable stars; Basil's famously temperamental red Austin Mini. Captured moments after its memorable breakdown, the artwork is filled with affectionate references that fans will instantly recognise, from the battered tree branch to the iconic "Farty Towels" hotel sign. Rich in humour, nostalgia and meticulous detail, it perfectly captures the wit that made the series a comedy classic.

This hand-embellished boutique edition forms part of David Renshaw's celebrated Iconic Cars Collection, a body of work dedicated to some of the most recognisable vehicles from film and television. Rather than simply depicting classic cars, the collection celebrates the stories they tell and the memories they evoke, transforming cultural icons into beautifully crafted contemporary artworks.

Every edition is individually hand embellished by David, ensuring each artwork possesses its own subtle character while retaining the unmistakable charm of the original composition. Hand signed and numbered by the artist, 'Don't Mention The Breakdown' is a wonderful opportunity for collectors of David Renshaw's work, admirers of British television history and anyone who appreciates art that brings a smile every time it's viewed.
