In 'Because I Knew You', Kerry Darlington captures one of the most powerful moments in the Wicked story; the unbreakable bond between Elphaba and Glinda. Once rivals at Shiz University, the two women are transformed by friendship, discovering that true magic lies not in spells, but in understanding.

The title takes inspiration from the iconic line “Because I knew you, I have been changed for good”- a sentiment that echoes through this luminous portrait. Darlington’s exquisite brushwork brings a tender radiance to both characters: Glinda’s soft grace intertwined with Elphaba’s quiet strength. Together they stand as symbols of courage, empathy, and the kind of friendship that changes everything.

Compact in scale yet rich in feeling, 'Because I Know You' shimmers with Darlington’s hallmark sense of story and emotion, a celebration of connection that will resonate with anyone who believes that knowing someone can alter the course of a life.

Providing quality at every step

Experience and care with each order

Trading for over 30 years, we have made art our passion. Therefore we have developed a strict set of standards for the safe storage and dispatch of our precious works to our collectors. Our meticulous 12-point checklist ensures every work upholds our exacting quality standards when dispatching one of our artworks.

Starting at dispatch from the artist's studio, we've worked together with our community of artists to ensure delivery to the gallery is as meticulous as possible - each work packaged safe transit.

Upon arrival in our Weybridge showroom, each new arrival is examined by the studio & dispatch team. Frames are scrutinised for a perfect finish: glass is polished to perfection with anti-static art cloths. Auxiliary features like the string/wire and certification on the reverse are checked for positioning and correct mounting. Finally, the work itself is inspected to ensure a flawless transition from studio to gallery. Upon purchase, the work is cleaned again and meticulously subjected to our trademark 12-point checking system to ensure a safe secure journey to its ultimate destination.

With a network of framers, restorers, conservators and art dealers with over 50-years experience in the industry, you can rest assured your world-class art receives the highest level of scrutiny and care.
