La Joie De Vivre - Hand Finished Edition

'Initially intending to simply escape the UK during the chill of the winter months, in early 2020, I went to the South of France. Yet as Spring approached and I began to plan my return, the world CLOSED DOWN which meant I then had little choice but to stay put. Turning the Airbnb’s spare room into a makeshift studio, I embraced the solitude, though I was desperately missing my daughter. I decided to paint her beautiful face, so although we were separated in reality, I was keeping her close at heart.  
Flamingos - they are wild, wonderful and perfectly PINK! The lakes surrounding my now home are full of them, I can see them from my terrace. They glide overhead, their silhouettes Jurassic, the sunlight catching and enhancing their salmon pinkness and each and every time I'm enthralled with their brilliance and beauty.' - Louise Dear
