This years theme was 'Midwinter Magic' to coincide with the launch of Godric's Lane, Strangeauld Placeand Journey to the Ice Palace among others... Using black pine trees, a dark colour scheme and soft atmosperic lighting we transformed the Wyecliffe Galleries into a mis-en-scene both magical and elegant. Possibly the most successful event decoration yet - and we've had some eye opening designs over the years!
The centrepiece of our annual event is the appearance of Kerry herself: as charming, authentic and beautiful as ever. Candidly chatting to her collectors and making everybody welcome; this is that rare breed of exceptional talent who remains warm, graceful and down-to-earth. A genuine friend to us here at Wyecliffe - her appearances are the undisputed high point of the gallery year.
Of course, the other highlight of the show was the appearance of so many of collectors and friends. Almost 200 guests made their way across the UK - battling a rainstorm of biblical proportions! It was thrilling to have so many wonderful people with us and the atmosphere was electric...
Luckilly the extreme weather did nothing at all to dampen the spirit of the show itself (in many ways the dramatic atmosphere was a great counterpoint to the fantastical wintry landscapes on display). The only casualty of the tempest was Anthony, Wyecliffe's brand manager, in attempting to keep the rain from pooling on our courtyard's protective canopy - he got a full deluge of rainwater cascading onto his head for his troubles... I think he found that refreshing...
To commemorate the sparkling occasion, an unprecedented series ofnew Originals and Boutique Editions were launched on the night. Although most were sold at the event, a limited amount are still available. Don't miss out on your piece of Kerry Darlington history.
