Shane McCoubrey’s art is a dialogue between the earth beneath our feet and the infinite above. Raised amid the raw beauty of rural Ireland, his creative journey led him through the Royal College of Art and a celebrated career designing for the world’s most prestigious luxury houses including, Gucci, Ferrari and LVMH. Yet it was his return to painting that allowed him to fully explore his lifelong fascination with erosion, weather, geology and cosmic creation. Employing innovative mixed-media techniques, from gold leaf to diamond dust and resin, his canvases echo the processes of nature itself: layered, weathered, luminous.
