Created as a one-of-a-kind commission for Ikonick Motors, 'Born To Be Ikonick' is a monumental original artwork by contemporary British artist Becky Smith, created to project the identity of the Miami-based automotive brand through her own distinctive artistic language. At its centre, Ikonick's signature skull logo is transformed into the focal point of an extraordinary over 3 meter wide composition, framed by dramatic butterfly wings and surrounded by the intricate botanicals, pattern and maximalist detail synonymous with Smith's work.

The commission will join Ikonick Motors' significant art collection, for which internationally recognised artists have been invited to reinterpret the company's visual identity in their own individual styles; turning a corporate emblem into an original work of contemporary art. Layered in acrylic and spray paint with gold leaf, UV-reactive and specialist glow-in-the-dark pigments, Becky's interpretation changes character with its environment, revealing new details as the light shifts.

Commissioned for permanent display in the Ikonick Motors showroom in Miami, 'Born To Be Ikonick' demonstrates what makes a truly bespoke art commission so compelling; a personal story, idea or identity becomes the starting point, but the finished artwork could only have come from the hand and imagination of the artist.

Trading for over 30 years, we have made art our passion. Therefore we have developed a strict set of standards for the safe storage and dispatch of our precious works to our collectors. Our meticulous 12-point checklist ensures every work upholds our exacting quality standards when dispatching one of our artworks.
Starting at dispatch from the artist's studio, we've worked together with our community of artists to ensure delivery to the gallery is as meticulous as possible - each work packaged safe transit.

Upon arrival in our Weybridge showroom, each new arrival is examined by the studio & dispatch team. Frames are scrutinised for a perfect finish: glass is polished to perfection with anti-static art cloths. Auxiliary features like the string/wire and certification on the reverse are checked for positioning and correct mounting. Finally, the work itself is inspected to ensure a flawless transition from studio to gallery. Upon purchase, the work is cleaned again and meticulously subjected to our trademark 12-point checking system to ensure a safe secure journey to its ultimate destination.

With a network of framers, restorers, conservators and art dealers with over 50-years experience in the industry, you can rest assured your world-class art receives the highest level of scrutiny and care.
