Alice And A Long Tale - GOLD Edition

Alice and a Long Tale - Kerry Darlington

In a world where nothing is quite as it seems, even the most extraordinary gathering can become something truly precious. Alice and a Long Tale sees Kerry Darlington return to the enchanting imagination of Lewis Carroll's Alice's Adventures in Wonderland, creating a spectacular celebration of the characters, creatures and curious encounters that have captivated readers for generations.

Beneath a canopy of brilliantly coloured leaves, Alice finds herself at the centre of a magnificent menagerie. The mischievous Cheshire Cat surveys the scene from his favourite vantage point amongst the branches, while the wonderfully flamboyant Dodo stands proudly nearby, his jewel-toned plumage bringing an irresistible flourish of colour to the composition.

A magnificent owl watches over the gathering, surrounded by an extraordinary assortment of fantastical birds, rabbits, butterflies and woodland creatures. From the smallest flowers to the most elaborate feathers, every corner is alive with the intricate detail and playful imagination that have become hallmarks of Kerry Darlington's work.

The Dodo's appearance is a particularly charming reminder of Carroll's original tale, in which his wonderfully absurd Caucus-race ends with everyone declared a winner. It is a fitting sentiment for a painting that celebrates individuality and the joy of belonging, no matter how unusual one's appearance or personality might be.

Created as an exceptionally scarce Gold Edition, this extraordinary interpretation combines precious gold leaf, intricate three-dimensional embellishments and a lustrous gloss resin finish. The golden detailing introduces a further dimension of richness and luminosity, complementing the jewel-bright colours and elaborate decorative elements that make this composition so captivating.

The interplay of sculptural texture, metallic embellishment and luminous resin brings Kerry's fantastical world to life, transforming the composition into a richly layered celebration of artistic craftsmanship and imagination.

Strictly limited to just 10 Gold Editions worldwide, Alice and a Long Tale offers collectors a rare opportunity to acquire one of the most exclusive interpretations of Kerry Darlington's extraordinary Wonderland. A precious reminder that the most wonderful stories are often those filled with unexpected characters, unlikely friendships and a little delightful nonsense.
