The powerful, haunting Avarice Egocentric is Keith Maiden's depiction of the social evils that scar British society today - greed, collapse of moral values and individualism. Maiden subtly uses rich details to reference many aspects of modern society, in a piece which is truly memorable. A twist on Apple's branding, the tattoo showing 2 bites of the apple, signifies the greed of today's society. The Latin inscription reads; "centre of their own attention". Maiden has also included subtle humour to this piece. Look closely and you can see the name on the credit card as 'Mr Owen Monie'. Looking closely at the bottom right hand corner and you will see the Twitter logo with the words 'ACCOUNT CLOSED: 0 followers'. Interpret this as you will...

Trading for over 30 years, we have made art our passion. Therefore we have developed a strict set of standards for the safe storage and dispatch of our precious works to our collectors. Our meticulous 12-point checklist ensures every work upholds our exacting quality standards when dispatching one of our artworks.
Starting at dispatch from the artist's studio, we've worked together with our community of artists to ensure delivery to the gallery is as meticulous as possible - each work packaged safe transit.
Upon arrival in our Weybridge showroom, each new arrival is examined by the studio & dispatch team. Frames are scrutinised for a perfect finish: glass is polished to perfection with anti-static art cloths. Auxiliary features like the string/wire and certification on the reverse are checked for positioning and correct mounting. Finally, the work itself is inspected to ensure a flawless transition from studio to gallery. Upon purchase, the work is cleaned again and meticulously subjected to our trademark 12-point checking system to ensure a safe secure journey to its ultimate destination.
