In 'Grace', Becky Smith brings together two recurring elements of her work, the skull and the natural world, in a composition filled with colour, contrast and extraordinary detail.
A tonal skull commands the centre of the image, surrounded by an abundant display of flowers, butterflies and birds. Brilliant blues sit alongside deep pinks, orange, violet and turquoise, creating a vivid contrast with the cooler tones of the skull. There is a wonderful tension between the two; something permanent and imposing surrounded by nature at its most colourful and fleeting.
The inspiration for 'Grace' came from Becky's largest commission to date, an incredible 10 x 6 ft painting created for Ikonick Motors in Miami, where it is displayed in the collector's supercar showroom. The monumental commission featured a background filled with florals, birds and butterflies, and Becky wanted to bring the richness and detail of those elements into 'Grace' on a more intimate scale.
'Grace' was created alongside its sibling artwork, 'Growth', with the two compositions approaching the floral skull from opposing perspectives. In 'Growth', nature forms the skull; in 'Grace', nature surrounds it. The connection makes them natural companion pieces, while each remains a strong composition in its own right.
Produced as a limited edition Giclée print on Hahnemühle fine art paper, the Mini captures the depth of colour and intricate detail of the original artwork. Each is then hand embellished with specialised UV glow-in-the-dark paint, adding an individual hand-finished element and allowing selected details to reveal themselves under UV light.

Our meticulous 12-point checklist ensures every work upholds our exacting quality standards when dispatching one of our artworks.
Starting at dispatch from the artist's studio, we've worked together with our community of artists to ensure delivery to the gallery is as meticulous as possible - each work packaged safe transit.
Upon arrival in our Weybridge showroom, each new arrival is examined by the studio & dispatch team. Frames are scrutinised for a perfect finish: glass is polished to perfection with anti-static art cloths. Auxiliary features like the string/wire and certification on the reverse are checked for positioning and correct mounting. Finally, the work itself is inspected to ensure a flawless transition from studio to gallery. Upon purchase, the work is cleaned again and meticulously subjected to our trademark 12-point checking system to ensure a safe secure journey to its ultimate destination.
