In 'What Alice Found There', Kerry Darlington unites two of her most beloved worlds, her iconic Tree of Life and the dreamlike charm of Alice in Wonderland. This exquisite original captures the instant between reality and reverie, when Alice, resting beneath a tree, drifts into the wonder that will change her forever.

Each branch blossoms with memory and magic: the Cheshire Cat grins from above, teacups and pocket watches gleam in the golden canopy, and the White Rabbit waits impatiently beneath the roots of imagination. The tree itself becomes a living archive of adventure, portraying every ornament a symbol of what Alice discovered along her journey.

Darlington enriches the surface with hand-applied gold leaf, delicate matte resin layers, and a matte varnish finish, achieving an extraordinary harmony between texture and light. The result is a painting that glows from within, a contemporary homage to classic storytelling and a celebration of the curiosity that fuels creativity.

'What Alice Found There' is both nostalgic and newly luminous, a modern heirloom for collectors who treasure the art of imagination.

Providing quality at every step

Experience and care with each order

Trading for over 30 years, we have made art our passion. Therefore we have developed a strict set of standards for the safe storage and dispatch of our precious works to our collectors. Our meticulous 12-point checklist ensures every work upholds our exacting quality standards when dispatching one of our artworks.

Starting at dispatch from the artist's studio, we've worked together with our community of artists to ensure delivery to the gallery is as meticulous as possible - each work packaged safe transit.

Upon arrival in our Weybridge showroom, each new arrival is examined by the studio & dispatch team. Frames are scrutinised for a perfect finish: glass is polished to perfection with anti-static art cloths. Auxiliary features like the string/wire and certification on the reverse are checked for positioning and correct mounting. Finally, the work itself is inspected to ensure a flawless transition from studio to gallery. Upon purchase, the work is cleaned again and meticulously subjected to our trademark 12-point checking system to ensure a safe secure journey to its ultimate destination.

With a network of framers, restorers, conservators and art dealers with over 50-years experience in the industry, you can rest assured your world-class art receives the highest level of scrutiny and care.
