Valentines 2020

Love is at Wyecliffe

Valentines at Wyecliffe is a time of looking back at our close relationships with our devoted clients, aswell as talented artists putting down markers in their pronounced spaces. Such talents include nature-inspired artists, Kerry Darlington and Amy Louise, as they seek to capture the moments of nature's special bond with animals, also including a host of artists with their very distinct styles, including David Renshaw's storytelling duo, Ted & Doris, combining tenderness & popular landscapes through heartfelt abstracts. Also looking back at the continued success of Becky Smith, with her heart-shaped pieces and Amy Louise's intimate pieces depicting the close bond between couples.

Valentines New In's

The new release “hot-off-the-press” from David’s studio exhibits the first display of fireworks he has ever produced within a published release. The combination of multicoloured embers cascading through the night sky, mixed with a silhouette of Westminster reflected elegantly in the Thames, makes this one of the most unique editions we have ever seen.

Following encouragement from friends, peers and family, David has fashioned a successful career producing some of the art industries most iconic original and limited-edition pieces.

His artworks are associated with a strong principle of "Family and the home", combining tenderness & popular landscapes through heartfelt abstracts. His renowned characters Ted & Doris enables the viewer, to place their own stories, memories and associations to each piece. Renshaw’s distinct ‘hearts’ are positioned differently with every edition painted.

Little Red Riding Hood, Beauty and The Beast, Snow White & Rose Red and The Snow Queen.

Already procuring huge success from her earlier pieces, the progress of the mythical collection has been nothing short of a reformation in the fairy-tale space that we see Darlington work in - such evolution has seen the quality of her work get stronger as the bar is timelessly raised, piece after piece - paving the way for an eagerly anticipated composition.

Like her approach to every piece within the Folklore Collection, Darlington's Goldilocks and the Three Bears embraces the moral reasoning of the story as it is strung between self preservation and social rule breaking. As such, the nature of a virtuous, story-line begins with a problem, strung from naive decision-making but with an ending that looks to send a clear message to the reader - Goldilocks and The Three Bears looks to replicate the moral-reasoning of good behaviour in this example.

run-up to Valentines day takes pace. One doesn't need to look any further than the shape of the artwork to find Kerry's inspiration for her special piece.

A handful of our talented artists have been renowned to create attractive-looking pieces using bright-colour pallets and leading female characters. Such artists include graceful painter, Amy Louise, where she looks to incorporate her love for adventure using animals as the protagonists of her pieces, and their naturally close bond for one another. Other artists include Marvel-inspired creator, Nigel Humphries, and his emphasis on small-scale characters, particularly female personalities, who possess lady-like traits and physique.

Appealing more to the male segment, this collection largely consists of up & coming artist, and creator of the 'pop-maximisation' movement, Lhouette, with some of his pieces overlapping with the talented, Nigel Humphries, in terms of concepts and portraying superhero characters from real-life franchises. This overlap typifies the mutual understanding of each-others' ingenious work that makes both artists a force to be reckoned with. The characters most associated with both artists' are also inflicting male traits and statures, the tone of these pieces are consistent with the 'macho man' traits.
