Having adored pictures books as young child and with a degree in in fine art illustration under her belt the stage was set for one of the UK’s best-selling artists to emerge. Having long drawn inspiration from the magical stories she adored as a young child, the artist has developed a rich world weaving together notions from classic Welsh fables to contemporary novels written by Tolkein and JK Rowling. In the artistic world the mystical faeries by Arthur Rackham continue to be referenced in her works to this day, whilst other enduring inspirations may be found in sources as widely ranging as the fantastical Victorian-mechanical Steam Punk. Resulting in spellbinding works, collectors from every generation have been captivated by the world and imagination of Kerry Darlington.
